Legacy Awards

a new tradition began in 2019…

When we sought to honor two 8th grade ruggers who made an indelible impact on our program and truly represented our #FIRSTonthepitch values.

Two awards were created; the Career Excellence Award and the Lionhearted Award.

The Career Excellence Award honors an 8th grade rugger who played multiple seasons within our program and consistently displayed leadership, skill development, high quality play and sportsmanship. This award is known as “The Wilska” in honor of the inaugural recipient, Max Wilska.

The Lionhearted Award honors a rugger whose dogged determination and fearless effort on the pitch, often despite smaller size, becomes a rallying point and example for teammates. This award is known as “The Thompson” in honor of the inaugural recipient, Gavin Thompson.

With the addition of our 7th/8th grade girls team, beginning in 2020 we expanded to four annual awards, providing The Wilska and The Thompson to both a male and female recipient.
